Cleanroom Design - Airflow Type
The cleanroom classification is based on the pattern of airflow and can be roughly divided into:
Vertical laminar flow type (Down flow)、 Horizontal laminar flow type (Cross flow) and Turbulent flow type(Conventional flow) Three basic type. Vertical flow is the most commonly used for clean rooms.
Type | Vertical laminar flow type (Down flow) | Horizontal laminar flow type (Cross flow) | Turbulent flow type (Conventional flow) |

Characteristics |
Equipment costs are lower.
Easy to manage. Equipment configuration is simple and easy. Suitable for the entire operating range. Usually suitable for global area. |
Simple structure.
The difference in cleanliness between the upstream and downstream of the airflow is large. Higher degree of cleanliness can be obtained. Suitable for ordinary work. Usually suitable for all operating ranges. |
It is easy to change the production process and the equipment placement is more flexible.
Easy maintenance and management. Equipment costs are higher. The equipment is large and requires a lot of space. Highest level of cleanliness can be achieved. Not suitable for Job operating status. Can improve indoor cleanliness. |
